The Canarian coach now takes charge of the team, accompanied by a new technical staff, which includes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.noticiasdegipuzkoa.eus\/reala\/2023\/06\/11\/real-sociedad-benat-labaien-tokushima-6910373.html\">Be\u00f1at Labaien<\/a>, former<strong>\u00a0Real Sociedad<\/strong>, as his assistant. Ram\u00edrez (with past experience in clubs such as Independiente del Valle and Sporting de Gij\u00f3n) and Labaien had already worked together until last September at Al-Wakrah in Qatar, and now they are starting a second professional adventure together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gipuzkoan coach has always considered himself a coach, although his entry into professional football was more related to his work<strong>\u00a0as an analyst<\/strong>. He worked as an analyst at Elche and Leeds United before joining Real Sociedad in the summer of 2018. At Real Sociedad, also as an analyst,<strong>\u00a0he was always part of the first team\u2019s technical staff<\/strong>until December 2022, when he got the opportunity to start his solo coaching career. He joined<strong>\u00a0Tokushima Vortis<\/strong>\u00a0in the Japanese second division, where he managed the team until August 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">With Ram\u00edrez<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After nearly a year off, Labaien had a brief experience as an assistant coach at<strong>&nbsp;Al-Wakrah<\/strong>, and now his next step is joining Real Zaragoza. Coach Miguel \u00c1ngel Ram\u00edrez has signed a contract for<strong>&nbsp;one and a half seasons, until June 2026<\/strong>. With Zaragoza in mid-table and clearly on the decline during the season, Labaien and his staff\u2019s challenge is to improve the performance of&nbsp;<strong>a team with potential but a very young squad<\/strong>&nbsp;, which has recently been struggling under the pressure of the sporting needs of such a historic club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent weeks, Labaien had other&nbsp;<strong>interesting opportunities<\/strong>. He was very close to&nbsp;<strong>returning to Japan&nbsp;<\/strong>to become a head coach again, but this option fell through at the last moment. He was also approached by&nbsp;<strong>a La Liga club<\/strong>&nbsp;to join its technical staff, but the necessary circumstances didn\u2019t align for his signing to materialize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Labaien will now also work in Zaragoza with another coach with a past at Real Sociedad. At La Romareda, he will be the assistant to Ram\u00edrez, alongside the Alav\u00e9s-born&nbsp;<strong>Endika Gabi\u00f1a, who was responsible for recruitment in the lower categories at Zubieta<\/strong>&nbsp;until January 2023.
